Saving & Loading Tunes

Save your build and calibration to a file, load it back later, and share it as human-readable JSON.

Demo build: Save and Load are locked

These pages are available in the full game. See Demo vs Full Version.

What it is

A tune file stores two layers:

  • The hardware — the engine base and the parts you fitted.
  • The calibration — the VE, lambda and ignition tables; all enrichment curves, including the wall-film tables; the cold-idle curve; and the scalar settings: octane, idle target and PID gains, rev limiter, soft band, cut type, DFCO delay and minimum coolant temperature, knock sensitivity and cutoff, closed-loop on/off and its minimum coolant temperature, film-comp on/off, and spark offset.

Tune files don't depend on display units.

How to use it

Save. Click the Save icon (the disk) at the top right of the top bar. Fill in TUNE NAME, AUTHOR and NOTES, check the summary line, and press SAVE TUNE. Overwriting (and deleting) asks for confirmation.

Load. Click the Load icon (the arrow). A list shows your tunes, newest first, with a REFRESH button. Choosing a file asks which kind of load you want:

  • Load Full Build — the parts and the calibration.
  • Tune Values Only — the calibration, onto your current parts.

Files from newer versions of the game are flagged.

What a load does. A full-build load rebuilds the engine: ignition off, cold, wear reset. Switching engine base with unsaved tuning also asks you to confirm.

Where the files are. Tunes are stored as human-readable JSON, so they're shareable:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\ENGONE\ENGONE\Tunes\*.tune.json

Why it matters

There's no undo in the tables, so a saved tune is your safety net before a big change — and a tune file is how you share a build with someone else.

Rule of thumb

Save a tune before big changes. Name it so you can tell it from the next one.
