Controls¶
The full key map for running the engine and driving the drivetrain.
What it is¶
Engone is operated from the keyboard and mouse. The core keys cover ignition, starting, throttle, and
the clutch/gearbox; a few extra keys drive the dyno and the camera. The HUD buttons duplicate
E, R, Space, Shift and Ctrl; the CLUTCH button toggles.

Gear shifts are only accepted while the clutch is pressed (above 80 %); otherwise the key is ignored. The engine starts in neutral with the ignition off.
Throttle speed. W and S move the throttle at the rate set in OPTIONS → GAMEPLAY →
THROTTLE CHANGE RATE (25–200 %/s, default 50).
Dyno keys. Q and A change the setting of the current dyno mode: in Manual they raise or
lower the excitation, in RPM-Hold the target RPM, in Ramp the ramp rate. The speed of the change is
OPTIONS → GAMEPLAY → LOAD CHANGE RATE (25–200 %/s). See Dyno.
Free camera¶
Ctrl+Shift+Alt+M switches to a free-flying photo camera with the UI hidden:

Why it matters¶
Starting and driving are timing exercises: holding R to crank while keeping your hands off the throttle, or holding Space to declutch before a gear change with Left Shift / Left Ctrl. Knowing the map by feel lets you focus on the gauges instead of the keyboard.
Rule of thumb
The game ignores a shift unless the clutch is pressed (above 80 %), so hold Space, shift, then release.
In the game¶
The active gear (R / N / 1…), the CLUTCH button and the shift buttons are in the GEAR box in the
footer, next to the RPM gauge. To hide the whole UI for screenshots, use Free Camera.
