Interface Overview

The framed instrument UI: five page buttons across the top, the engine in the centre, live readouts on the left, the dyno graph on the right, and every control in the footer.

What it is

Engone's interface is built to feel like a piece of bench test equipment. Choose FREE TUNE from the main menu (the others are SCENARIOS, OPTIONS and EXIT) and you land on the Free Tune HUD.

Top bar. Five page buttons — SETUP, FUEL, IGNITION, LAMBDA, OPTIONS — then four icon buttons: Save tune, Load tune, Reset, Exit. A page opens as an overlay inside the viewport and has a CLOSE button.

The dyno isn't one of the pages: it is a footer panel plus a live graph (see Dyno).

Centre. The 3D engine. Hold the right mouse button and move to orbit the camera; use the mouse wheel to zoom.

Left column. At the top, a damage silhouette of ten layers that darkens as parts wear (see Damage & Wear). Below it, the readouts box (it scrolls if the window is short):

  • λ DEVIATION — Δ, ACTUAL λ, a centre-zero bar (±0.30), plus λ target and λ actual rows.
  • FUEL TRIM — STFT %, a chip showing the closed-loop state, a reason line and a bar. Click it to open the LAMBDA page.
  • ENRICH — the total enrichment multiplier.
  • FUEL PRESSURE
  • TIMING — the final spark, in °BTDC.
  • VOLTAGE

Right column. At the top, the live dyno graph (power green, torque amber, the previous pull grey, peak dots, a CLEAR button). Below it, the vacuum gauge: a needle plus a digital value for manifold gauge pressure — negative is vacuum, 0 is atmospheric.

Footer, left to right:

  1. TEMP box — COOLANT, IAT, OIL, HEAD, BLOCK, EXHAUST and CLUTCH bars, plus a FAN strip (see Temperatures & Cooling).
  2. DYNO + THROTTLE box — the dyno controls and the throttle slider with MAP, MAF, FUEL and VE cells (see Dyno).
  3. Ignition box (double width) — eight warning lights, the engine state window, the IGNITION and CRANK buttons, and the engine log (see Warning Lights & Engine State).
  4. RPM gauge — analog plus digital.
  5. GEAR box — gear indicator, CLUTCH button and shift buttons.

Why it matters

Each page maps directly to a stage of the ECU's logic. Knowing where a setting lives — and which readout reflects it — is how you connect a change you make to the behaviour you see. The readouts (RPM, MAP, lambda, temperatures) are your primary feedback while tuning.

How to use it

Watch the live readouts while you change a value, not after. Most tuning in Engone is a loop: adjust a table cell, run the engine at that operating point, read the readout, adjust again.

Hover tooltips

A few elements show a short hover tooltip. You can turn them off in OPTIONS → GAMEPLAY → SHOW TOOLTIPS. The only ? button is in the bottom-right corner of the engine log; it opens this wiki.

Units

Numbers on this wiki use metric units (kPa, °C, Nm, kW). In the game you can change every display under OPTIONS → GAMEPLAY → UNITS. Your tunes are unit-independent. See Options & Units.

Demo build

In the demo build some panels are greyed out — see Demo vs Full Version.

In the game

The page buttons are along the top bar; the active page is highlighted in bright ivory. To hide the whole UI for screenshots, use Free Camera (Ctrl+Shift+Alt+M) — see Controls.

The eight warning lights in the ignition box and the damage silhouette on the left tell you when something is wearing out or running outside its limits — see Warning Lights & Engine State.
