Getting Started¶
Everything you need to go from a cold engine to a running, tunable one.
What Engone is¶
Engone is a modular, realistic engine and ECU simulator. You assemble an engine from real components — block, crank, pistons, head, cam, intake, exhaust, optional turbo — and the simulation derives its displacement, compression ratio, redline, and breathing from those parts. A real-style ECU then runs the engine: estimating air mass, metering fuel, timing the spark, and managing idle, boost, and limits. It models both petrol (spark ignition) and diesel (compression ignition), with naturally aspirated and forced-induction setups, plus a built-in dyno.
Why it's organized this way¶
The wiki mirrors how the ECU actually works, split into six categories:
- Fuel — how much fuel, and when.
- Ignition — when the spark fires.
- Sensors — the inputs the ECU reads.
- Engine Setup — the hardware you build.
- Outputs — what the ECU controls.
- Reference — terms, troubleshooting, modding.
